The Otter Tail County Historical Society Coffee Klatch series continues on Friday, March 15, 10 a.m. with Eric Whitehill.

While most people run away from storms, storm chasers run toward them. Storm chasing means pursuing any type of severe weather condition. Most seek to study and predict weather patterns so they can forecast where and when a particular storm is likely to occur. As a member of KVLY’s Storm Team, Eric Whitehall is the designated storm chaser. Find out motivates storm chaser Eric Whitehall as he relates his experiences working in the upper midwest.

The OTCHS Coffee Klatch is free and open to the public. For more information call 218-736-6038.

FILM: Farmer of the Year

Saturday, March 16 2 pm & 7pm

When Hap Anderson, a widowed 83-year-old Minnesota farmer that thinks he’s still quite the ladies’ man, sells his family farm, he finds himself adrift and staring a short future in the face. Driven by the possibility of showing up with an old flame and impressing his old army buddies, he sets out to attend his 65th WWII reunion in California with his directionless and unreasonably self-confident granddaughter, Ashley. Each with their own issues and agendas, they head west in a dilapidated Winnebago. As the journey progresses so does their relationship and they begin to understand and appreciate each other as individuals while discovering that being young and being old, aren’t all that different.

Salt Therapy
March 16th @ 12 pm - 5 pm

salt.jpg

WHAT IS SALT THERAPY?
• Enjoyed by Europeans for centuries, salt therapy (also known as halotherapy) is becoming more widely
recognized in the U.S. as a natural, drug-free supplement or alternative to common medical treatments.
• Simply put, halotherapy emulates the conditions inside a natural salt cave by infusing the air with tiny
particles of pharmaceutical-grade salt. These particles are not only safe to breathe but also have been
shown to alleviate symptoms of asthma, allergies, respiratory problems, anxiety and other ailments.
THE MOBILE EXPERIENCE:
• The Salt Cave Mobile® was designed with a mix of beautiful pink Himalayan salt and reclaimed wood to
further enhance the experience by creating an especially calm, relaxing environment.
• Music and lighting can be adjusted according to your preferences, as can the seating options: Lafuma sling
chairs, hammock chairs and benches for lying flat are provided to maximize comfort.
• During the session, the salt generator within the space introduces tiny particles of salt into the air, just like
being by the ocean.
• Find the deepest states of relaxation at your location during all seasons--the space is equipped with both
heat (floor + furnace) and air conditioning to provide the perfect temperature during all Minnesota months.
There has to be a certain amount of people before they will commit to drive here! Thanks!
