  • 1 cup almond milk

  • 1 1/2 tbsp raw cacao powder check for gluten free if needed

  • 3 tbsp rolled oats check the brand for gluten free if required

  • 1/2 a ripe medium sized banana

  • 8 almonds

  • 1 tsp chia seeds

  • 1 tsp maca powder optional

  • 1/2 oz fresh coconut chunks

  • 6 tbsp lukewarm water

To Serve:

  • 1 tsp freshly ground almonds I grind approx 10 almonds using the Breville mill accessory, which gives 3-4 tsp of ground almonds

Instructions

  1. Add the dark chocolate to a jug, pour in ¾ of the milk, then add the cacao powder. Microwave until the mixture is hot (but not boiling) and the chocolate has melted (you can do this in a pan if you prefer).

  2. Place the oats, banana, almonds, chia seeds, maca powder, coconut, the remaining almond milk and the water into the compact food processor.

  3. Blend on high for a minute until the oats and chia seeds have been completely incorporated.

  4. Pour the heated milk/chocolate mixture into the compact food processor bowl and stir together to combine.

  5. Pour into a cup, then sprinkle on your freshly ground almonds before serving.
