Eats-N-Ales opens April 13
Chelsea Kemp and her mother Tasha Olds scurried around the cozy kitchen at Drastic Measures Brewing this week. They were hard at work preparing for the grand opening of their new eatery, Eats-N-Ales.
Olds and Kemp are not strangers to the restaurant business. Olds has been the owner of Lefty's bar in Staples for 18 years. She plans to keep the long standing bar and restaurant in addition to operating the new business. Olds and Kemp co-own Eats-N-Ales and have been expediently moving into the brewery space.
Food prepared by the duo and their staff is prepared with fresh ingredients. The dishes on the menu require a great deal of preparation. The menu is comprised of high-end appetizers, soups, and even deep fried cheeseburger sliders. Kemp has big plans for the menu and will slowly be integrating specials.
Kemps fiancé is an investor at Drastic Measures Brewing and when the news broke that owner, Brett Doebbeling, was searching for a restauranteur to partner with, Olds was quickly notified. At an investor meeting, Eats-N-Ales presented food and Doebbeling was sold. Doebbeling is an especially big fan of the steak fries.
"The biggest thing is if people can set down and eat, maybe they have a couple of beers," said Doebbeling. The area is home to burgers and pizza but it's tough to find food likes the dishes offered by Eats-N-Ales. The sophisticated food items are designed to be tasty and different from what's available down the block.
